Gillian at the Louth Craft and Gift Fair 15th Oct.

I’m looking forward to making my first foray into the world of craft and gift fairs on Saturday 15th October. I will be signing and selling my two novels ‘After The Funeral’ and newly published ‘A Question of Loyalty’ at the Louth Craft and Gift Fair at the Louth & District British Royal Legion Headquarters, Northgate, Louth LN11 0LY between 10am-3pm.

Louth has been a market town since the eighth century and is known as the ‘capital’ of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The steeple of St. James Church dominates the skyline. It’s a delightful town with many independent shops and an interesting history. The Lincolnshire Rising began in Louth on 1 October 1536. This was a protest by Roman Catholics against Thomas Cromwell’s policy of dissolving the monasteries during the reign of Henry VIII.

I have a keen interest in Tudor history. One of the characters in my novels, Grace, is a PhD student. Grace is researching the relationship between the Roman Catholic Mary Tudor and her Protestant half-sister Elizabeth. I like the fact that I will be attending my first craft fair with my two books in a town which has these historic associations.
