It was wonderful to welcome friends from near and far to the launch of my second novel, ‘A Question of Loyalty’ at Gainsborough United Reformed Church on Saturday 17 September. I was surprised how nervous I was that morning: after all, I’d done it all before with ‘After The Funeral’ three years ago; I knew most of those attending; so why the butterflies?
On reflection, I suspect it was precisely because this is my second novel. I’d beavered away at ‘After The Funeral’ in secret, but after that came out, people were asking about when the sequel would follow. ‘A Question of Loyalty’ comes with more expectation attached.
Whether it’s as popular with readers remains to be seen. I hope so!
